DESCRIPTION:Annual Meeting of Members        With a Special Guest\n\n\n\nTuesday\, February 11th\, 2025   |  11:45 a.m.  |  In-person\n\n\n\nNotice is hereby given that the annual meeting of members of THE BATTLEFORDS & DISTRICT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE will be held in-person on Tuesday\, February 11th\, 2025 at 11:45 a.m. for the purpose of:\n\n\n\n1.  Ratifying all acts of the Board of Directors since the last annual meeting\;\n\n2.  Receiving the Financial Statements for the Year Ended December 31st\, 2024\;\n\n3.  Appointing the public accountant\;\n\n4.  Election of a Member-at-Large to the Executive Committee\;\n\n5.  Approval of:  the 2025 Membership List\; the 2025 Operating Budget\, and Signing Authorities\;\n\n6.  Transacting such further and other business as may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment thereof. \n\n \n\nThe Meeting will be held at the Battlefords & District Chamber of Commerce   Balych Mural Meeting Room at 11:45 a.m.  Tickets are $25.00 per person (plus taxes)\, which includes a luncheon meal.  Registration for attendance is required\, and can be completed by calling Battlefords & District Chamber of Commerce @ (306) 445-6226\, or by emailing your request to:  admin@battlefordschamber.com\n\n\n\nFeb 11th\, 2025 is also Canada Ag Day!  Join us for a special guest speaker to round out the event.  Karla Wiens is joining us from Swift Current to share her story as co-owner of Saskatchewan's first and only outdoor micro-cultivation (cannabis) operation in SW Saskatchewan\, licensed by Health Canada. \n\nKarla has an agriculture degree from the U of S\, with a major in Horticulture and Ag Economics\; and she is a Certified Financial Planner (for over 25 years).  Currently\, she is the CEO of the Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce (retiring end of March 2025)\, is an Instructor at Great Plains Collefe for the Agriculture Sciences Certificate Program\, and as noted\, is the co-owner\, with her husband Stacey\, of the facility we'll hear about today.  \n\n\n\nHear the story of their business - "The Path to Entrepreneurship and What Led Us Into This Business at 54"\n\n            \n\n\n\nQuorum for the Annual Meeting of Members is a minimum of 15 members in good standing.
